| Charming traditional Spanish townhouse Casa Berhanu is a 2 storey semi detached traditional Spanish town house. It is situated in a small tranquil community of 12 houses with lush green gardens, flowerbeds, banana & date palms & fruit trees providing shade within the garden. At night the trees are beautifully illuminated which brings a real ambience to your BBQ’s or your evening drinks on the terrace. In the gardens are also 2 shared swimming pools the smaller pool is an ideal depth for children . On the roof of the house is a secluded sun terrace with loungers and a beautiful sea view. Casa Berhanu has 3 double sized bedrooms, one of which has a double bed and en-suite bathroom. The other 2 bedrooms have twin beds and are next to a second fully fitted bathroom. Each bedroom includes fitted wardrobes, ceiling fans and radiators for use in winter. There is also a guest toilet on the ground floor. The kitchen is fitted with everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable self catering holiday, and not forgetting the brick built BBQ on the terrace for all your al fresco dining. The living area is filled with character, with plenty of books to read, games to play and films to watch. The house has a traditional charm and is filled with paintings and photos of the owner’s travels I loved it on first seeing it and hope that you will too. If you want a bit of character then this is the house for you.
No car neededThe house is just 5 minutes walk from the beach, and even less to some of the 40-50 bars and restaurants that Calahonda has to offer most of which are very family orientated. They are based around Ave de Espana, El Zoco Centre, Calypso and several other retail & commercial areas. There are 3 supermarkets within a few minutes’ walk, in fact everything is on your doorstep a car is not needed. Bus stops, taxi rank, church and car hire are all a 5 minute walk away. It is a fantastic location from which to discover Costa del Sol, yet quiet enough just to relax and kick back. It is only a 10 minute drive from both Marbella and Fuengirola if you do hire a car, and there is a designated parking space in front of the property. A 20 minute walk will take you to the nicest port on the coast Cabopino where there is a selection of lovely bars and restaurants as well as a lovely beach offering water sports and beach bars. I’m sure you have heard that this area is known as the Costa del Golf. They are not lieng. Costa del Sol is famous for its variety of golf courses on offer, something for every level spread out from Malaga right to the opposite end of Estepona. None of the golf courses are more than a 30 minute drive, and some are more or less on your doorstep.

Reviews Read what previous guests have said... | Submitted by: Claire, 08/09/2010 - The townhouse location is as described it is just a short walk to the main strip and it is very quiet. The small pool is literally at your back gate. Beware of insects after the gardens are cut. The property could also do with mosquitoe nets. Whilst not the most modern the house is clean and the property manager very helpful.
| Submitted by: maria, 22/08/2010 - The house was very well-equipped with everything you could need and it was clean and homely. For us, the ceiling fans were not quite enough to keep the house cool, especially at night. I guess that may not be a problem at other times of the year though. The gardens and pools were lovely (the main pool was a lot bigger than we expected) and it was nice to sit on the terrace and look out at the view of the garden in peace and quiet. The tranquility of the setting was a major plus point. The location of the house is ideal for the shops etc, but the nicest beaches are a fair walk away (well, perhaps only 20 minutes, but it feels a long way when hot!). Bettina was extremely welcoming and helpful. One minor thing that might benefit from some attention in future is the lock on the patio door. Because it does not work there is a large chain and padlock - which is fine but gets a bit annoying if you need to lock and unlock the door a lot. All in all though, a great house!
| Submitted by: Colm , 13/08/2010 - We were two families travelling together and the townhouse fitted our needs. The house was clean and tidy and the outside areas were quiet and peaceful during the day. You could sit and relax and read a book in the sun without being disturbed. There are a number of people who reside here full time and they are helpful if needed. Bettina looked after the house and was able to supply us with plenty of information about local restaurants and places to go to, if you wanted to. It was an extremely relaxing holiday no loud music and no drunks on the strip although the guys selling fake stuff can get in your hair if you let them. No outstanding restaurants but some good ones. We enjoyed our time there.

we were well looked after by staff who were friendly and bubbly and very happy to help.
it is a really lovely villa and i would definately recommend it as an ideal place to stay in calahonda.
| Submitted by: Martin, 12/04/2010 - My family stayed here for 5 nights just before Easter 2010. The property agent was really helpful and met us at the property even though we arrived quite late on a Sunday evening. We had good weather and enjoyed the break.
This 3 bedroom 2 bathroom semi detached house is part of a small group of about 6 or so similar houses set in a quite residential road but just a couple of minutes walk from the bars and restaurants on Calahondas main street, Avenue De Espana. I hired a car and parking outside was not a problem.
The house has a lovely enclosed patio with table and chairs which acts as a natural sun trap backing onto a lovely well tended communal garden with a couple of swimming pools. As we were there in low season we pretty much had the garden to ourselves most of the time. For greater privacy there was also a really nice roof garden patio with 4 good quality sunbeds and a parasol accessed from inside the property.
The decor, furnishings and equipment inside Casa Berhanu are slightly dated and well used but very functional and it certainly had everything we needed. Price wise the place was excellent value for money and is ideal for an inexpensive holiday or short break on the Costa del sol.
